Abstract : Shanghai was the most highly developed city in China before 1949.It developed abruptly because of the unique function concessions played in the particular circumstances of China at that time.Based on relevant history materials,this article makes a concise analysis on the urbanism effect of concessions in Shanghai from there aspects,i.e.: the development of concessions,the road construction beyond the boundaries,and the autonomy of Chinese's regions. 上海是中国近代化程度最高的城市。其之所以能迅速崛起,关键在于上海租界在近代中国特殊环境下所具有的独特功能。依据相关史料,从租界开发、越界筑路及华界自治三方面,对其城市化效应作了初步考察,以从一个侧面增进对上海租界与上海崛起关系的认识。
