Abstract : This text mainly finds the data of Shanghai amusements in the late times of Qing dynasty from Shen Bao between 1872 to 1911,investigates the characters of amusements of Shanghai people,generalizes them as three aspects:pursuing extravagant,seeking stimulation,crasis between eastern and western,and at last analyses their reasons and influence.The purpose is to probe the course of the urbanization of Chinese cities from social life. 本文主要从1872—1911年的《申报》中钩稽出反映晚清上海城市娱乐的资料,从中探讨上海人的娱乐生活特征,将之归结为俗尚奢靡、追新慕异、中西杂糅三个方面,并分析其形成的原因和影响,以期从社会生活层面对中国城市近代化历程作一探索
