Information data : As for many roads in Shanghai, Jessfield Road was built over an existing canal. During the Taiping Rebellion, some roads were made to transport supplies and ammunition, and in this way Jessfield Road came into existence. Later, the road was taken over by the Shanghai Municipal Council.
