A Chinese bride and groom

Title : A Chinese bride and groom

Topic : Chinese Maritime Customs Service

Location : Unknown

Date (start) : 1915

Estimated dates : 1915-1930

Nature : B&W Photo

Support image : Paper

Information data : University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: he03-046. Photo from an album (UoB reference he03) kept in the School of Oriental and African Studies Archives, London (SOAS reference PP MS 82/14). Hedgeland provided no caption for this photo. However, a newspaper cutting from the London 'Evening Standard', dated 23 September 1935, pasted next to it in the album, entitled 'River Death Riddle of a Davis Cup Captain' strongly suggests that the photo is of Mr Wing Lock-Wei and his bride. Wing Lock-Wei captained the Chinese Davis Cup teams in 1924, 1927 and 1930. He died in New York, September 1935.
